I-80 Corridor System Master Plan Corridor Stewardship • Taking the Longview – Communities are connected in multiple ways • Economically • Socially • Culturally – Scarce resources • Declining fuel tax revenues • Anti tax political environment – Coordinated action to improve outcomes for all parties
Corridor Stewardship • Comprehensive and inclusive strategic dialogue required – Identify existing proposed ideas that improve the corridor – Improved insight to diverse interrelated issues throughout the I-80 corridor – Generate a vision and plan for I-80 that enhance the future for corridor communities – Establish a stakeholder supported system for strategically implementing the plan
Corridor Stewardship • Dialogue Champions – Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission worked with the Nevada Congressional delegation to advance corridor stewardship – Nevada Department of Transportation partners to provide facilitative support – Dialogue extended to include stakeholders in California, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming – Consultant facilitation assistance secured
