The Endocrine Society has compared active and sedentary children in stressful situations. The sedentary children had elevated levels of cortisol, a stress indicator, when put into the same stressful experiences as active children. Even though the interactions are not well understood, the researchers feel “These results suggest exercise promotes mental health by regulating the stress hormone response to stressors. ”

More Reasons to Exercise and Plant a Garden 更多运�的原因和种花 n The British Journal of Sports Medicine published results of multiple studies that correlated exercise with selfcontrol. The correlation held not only for pre-adolescent children, but for adolescents and young adults. “This is particularly important for children and teens, because well developed higher brain functions are important for academic achievement and other aspect of daily life, say the authors. ”

Kids who watch their seeds develop at home are more likely to try new foods—healthier foods. The study reported a noticeable improvement in the nutritional level of school lunches from kids who participated.

Arctic Camel Found 北极��有�� Fossils from a large species of camel living in n n Canada’s high arctic contain soft tissue. What’s an iconic desert creature doing in the freezing wastes of the north? The BBC News reported the discovery of 30 fragments of camel leg bones found on Ellesmere Island. Some of them had collagen, even though dated in the evolutionary scheme at 3. 5 million years old. Evolutionists date the earliest camels at 45 million years old, but were astonished to find specimens this far north.

Arctic Camel Found 北极��有�� n The ancient camels would have had to cope with long and harsh winters, with temperatures plunging well below freezing. There would have been snow storms and months of perpetual darkness.

Their splayed feet, researchers surmise, would have been just as adapted to walk on snow as on sand, and their large eyes just as useful for arctic low-light conditions as for modern desert habitats. Researchers claimed the collagen shows the fossil camel was a “direct ancestor of modern camels. ” Mike Buckley (U of Manchester) said the fragments provide “new insight into the evolution of this animal. ”

Arctic Camel Found 北极��有�� n If this is evolution, it’s backwards. The fossil camels were larger and more adaptive to more habitats. Nothing was stated about half-camels. Did they just “appear” on the scene fully evolved? This is another example not of Darwinian progress, but modern impoverishment from a richer, more diverse biosphere in the past. Ignore the millions-of-years dates; they’re plot elements of the Darwinian story, not facts of nature.

Gold, Earthquakes, and Time 黄金，地震和�� n n n How long does it take to form veins of gold in the rock? (a) millions of years; (b) less than a second. If you guessed (b), you overestimated. It might just be a few tenths of a second. So reported Richard A. Lovett in Nature News about a new study in Nature Geoscience on the relationship between heat, pressure, precipitation, and earthquakes. Scientists have long known that veins of gold are formed by mineral deposition from hot fluids flowing through cracks deep in Earth’s crust. But a study published today in Nature Geoscience has found that the process can occur almost instantaneously — possibly within a few tenths of a second.

Gold, Earthquakes, and Time 黄金，地震和�� n n The process takes place along ‘fault jogs’ — sideways zigzag cracks that connect the main fault lines in rock, says first author Dion Weatherley, a seismologist at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. The idea is that hot fluid flashes into vapor in the fault jogs during earthquakes, causing nearly instant precipitation of the fluids within them under rapid depressurization. This is called “flash vaporization. ” Small earthquakes appear to be more efficient at gold vein formation than large ones. A slip of merely 130 micrometers in a 90 -centimeter fault zone can result in a 50% pressure drop, allowing the rapid precipitation of gold and quartz.

Gold, Earthquakes, and Time 黄金，地震和�� n n The caption in a photo of a gold vein accompanying the article says, “Veins of gold, such as this one trapped in quartz and granite, may deposit when the high-pressure water in which they were dissolved suddenly vaporises during an earthquake. ” Lovett still promoted the idea that large veins of gold might take hundreds of thousands of years to form out of the “tiny” veins hypothesized in the study.

Gold, Earthquakes, and Time 黄金，地震和�� n That, Weatherley adds, might be one of the reasons that the rocks in gold-bearing quartz deposits are often marbled with a spider web of tiny gold veins. “You [can] have thousands to hundreds of thousands of small earthquakes per year in a single fault system, ” he says. “Over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, you have the potential to precipitate very large quantities of gold. Small bits add up. ”

Given that so many small earthquakes can occur in a few years, it would seem hundreds of thousands of years are not necessary to find gold in them. OOLishness: The Imaginary World of Origin-of. Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n Why aren’t philosophers of science shaming origin-of-life researchers out of the science department? n OOL theories depend on imagination, not empirical evidence, for their broad -brush conclusions.

OOLishness: The Imaginary World of Origin-of. Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n Astrobiology Magazine promised “New Insights into the n Origin of Life” but delivered only imaginary inferences. Researchers studied living archaea, assuming them to be ancient, then used “could” and “may have” to conclude that DNA came late in the evolution of cells. But then the article mentioned 526 genes essential to life in a simple archaeal cell, and 121 essential proteins the scientists knew nothing about (see online book for the probability of getting even one gene by chance). Added to that, one of the OOL researchers admitted that DNA without all its complex machinery is useless. “DNA by itself is a rock, ” he said. “You need all these other systems to make the DNA become a living cell. ” He provided zero evidence that those systems could have arisen from a primordial soup.

Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n Another entry in Astrobiology Magazine promised “Evidence that Comets Could Have Seeded Life on Earth” (the word could being the tip-off for imagination). But the reader will not find the word evidence in the body of the article–only talk of a simulation in contrived lab conditions. Even so, the Berkeley team manufactured nine amino acids and a couple of dipeptides at best, not specifying if the amino acids were used by living cells or were one-handed (see online book). Amino acids by themselves are as far from life as individual letters are from a sophisticated book.

This article used could 7 times and may have 3 times, with a smattering of other escape words like possible or plausible. The guts of the story, about whether bacteria can switch between walled and unwalled states, was the least of the worries facing the researchers’ imaginary thesis.

Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n Science Daily teased its readers with the headline, “Untangling Life’s Origins, ” confessing a tangled mess exists or has existed till now. The untangling operation, though, required postulating a “protein big bang” at the beginning. The researchers, additionally, used bioinformatics (an intelligent design method) to infer how proteins might have evolved. One researcher confessed, “The complexities of the biological functions of molecules are still poorly understood. ” Maybe they should focus on understanding function before speculating about origin.

Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n Could is the first word in a Space. com article, “Could Life Have Evolved on Mars Before Earth? ” The imagination is sent whirring with such suggestions. As for evidence, all that was proposed was some prior wetness in a certain crater on Mars where the Curiosity rover happens to be digging. No signs of Martian microbes were presented. Speaking of a “tantalizing possibility that life may have evolved on the Red Planet before it took root on Earth, ” this article again used its suggestion wand: “New observations by NASA’s Curiosity rover suggest that microbial life could have survived on Mars in the distant past. ”

OOLishness: The Imaginary World of Origin-of. Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n A story on Phys. Org borders on divination with test tubes acting as crystal balls. Many of us remember from chemistry class the mineral “gardens” one can make by pouring certain solutions into a test tube of liquid. The original source article at Chemical and Engineering News now claims that these non-living, abiotic structures “could hold the key to understanding the origins of life on Earth. ” An editor of C&EN advocates “using them as “inspiration for origin-of-life research at hydrothermal vents. ” Why? Because “Some scientists regard hydrothermal vents as places where life may first have originated on Earth. ” Maybe staring at the minerals long enough will bring forth the desired visions.

OOLishness: The Imaginary World of Origin-of. Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 If you are still dazzled by the “tantalizing possibilities” told in n these kinds of articles, you must get over it! Deprogram yourself. Stop being duped. Science is supposed to deal with objective reality—that which can be observed, repeated, and demonstrated. All the “possibility thinking” you see (may have, could have, might have possibly, probably, likely, sheds light, insight) has to be jettisoned. It’s not science till it’s demonstrated. Yet how can one possibly demonstrate the origin of life? OOL divination practitioners need to invoke bizarre, unobserved conditions in some mythical “distant past” where processes that could never happen in today’s world “could have” happened. This is pure wizardry, shamanism, shame. Its f. OOLishness built on the foundation of sand that evolution cannot be questioned. Do not be deceived. Be angry that such fluff passes for science these days.

OOLishness: The Imaginary World of Origin-of. Life Studies 生命起源想象的世界的研究 n Astrobiology Magazine is one of the most useless, stupid boondoggles in the federal government. It merely regurgitates press releases from other sources with “possibility thinking, ” putting out garbage like this day after day with your tax dollars. Don’t forget that NASA’s Astrobiology Institute began in the 1990 s with the hype over alleged microorganisms in a Martian meteorite, a claim soundly debunked in the years since. Like other useless federal programs, this one is hard to dismantle, but should have been first on the chopping block with the government as broke as it is. Astrobiology is a sham, with no evidence to validate its existence. Let the astrobiologists turn in their junk badges and go get a real job that can actually do something useful to help their fellow humans, like finding a cure for cancer.

Scientific Organizations Promote Leftist Social Causes 科学��促�左派的社会 n n What on earth does a science journal have to do with abortion or gay marriage? Some editors and reporters are actively pushing for social revolution. In “A Pope for Today, ” Nature’s editors hoped that newly-instated Pope Francis would push social causes near and dear to their own Darwinworshiping leftist hearts. The editors spoke of “the backwards unscientific belief in creationism of many US evangelicals and lawmakers” (undoubtedly including any Darwin doubters in that category), hoping Pope Francis would not be one of those.

Scientists who have taken part in such discussions tell of thought-provoking and constructive debates, with the Church being open to ideas and often changing doctrines as a result. A damaging exception is its long-held opposition to the use of condoms to prevent the spread of HIV, and it can only be hoped that Pope Francis will have a more enlightened approach. ”

Such positions presuppose a backdrop of support for eugenics. Embryonic stem cell research cannot evade serious ethical questions, and the editors know it. Why did Nature classify all these things with Darwinism as “enlightened” while “creationism” is called “backward”? (see loaded words). If Nature were being truly scientific, it would seek balance on such hot topics or avoid them altogether as political matters for the domain of ethicists and theologians.

One of her pieces, “How Straight People Paved the Way for Gay Marriage, ” tried to blame straight people for the apparent rise in support (depending on polls used) for homosexual “marriage”. An even more egregious advocacy piece she wrote for Live Science is called “ 5 Scientific Reasons Gay Parents Are Awesome. ” There, Pappas tried to promote the idea that homosexuals are better parents than traditional moms and dads. In these articles, Pappas put no fingers in the dikes to distinguish her preferences from those who would use the same arguments to support polygamy and other social experiments. By rubberstamping her advocacy pieces, Live Science has endorsed her crusade.

What is troubling is that she attached the honorable name of “science” to her far-left social agenda, pushing a view repudiated by Catholics, evangelicals, Jews, and many non-religious heterosexuals. Never in the history of the world has a civilization promoted homosexual pairing to be a form of “marriage” on par with mother, father and children. Never have societies tried to redefine marriage to include other social experiments. Yet some “scientific” organizations like Nature and Live Science presume to create new social orders based on their self-proclaimed “enlightened” views – views informed by Darwinism and characteristic of other far-left organizations.

What! Promoting euthanasia in the name of science? Homosexual “marriage” in the name of science? Abortion in the name of science? Wake up, people! We are back to the early 20 th century, when progressives who loved Darwin promoted eugenics. Many unspeakable horrors followed. Don’t think our age will not escape the consequences of this kind of thinking.

Its shamans hold sway over their subjects, using all the tools of propaganda.

Evolution Is Not Just Change or Similarity �化不只是改�或相似性 n n Many scientific findings get labeled with “evolution” even though neo-Darwinism has nothing to do with them. Reversible evolution: A study on dust mites reported by Science Daily claims evolution can run backwards to previous states – a violation of an evolutionary principle called Dollo’s Law. For one, the supposed phylogenetic analysis began and ended with dust mites, not with one kind of creature turning into another. For another, a violation of Dollo’s Law (“evolution is unidirectional and irreversible”) amounts to a falsification of neo-Darwinism, not a confirmation of it.

Org and another on Science Daily claim long-term evolution is “surprisingly predictable, ” contrary to a key tenet of neo. Darwinism that evolution is aimless and purposeless. The first study involved just a computer model of a particular protein connection, irrelevant to evolution anyway. The second began and ended with E. coli (one species), of doubtful relevance to the issue of Darwinian “origin of species. ”

Science Daily thought so (“It’s in the Cards: Human Evolution Influences Gamblers’ Decisions”), but the big question left begging is whether humans’ ability to make “rational decisions” is a product of neo-Darwinism. If they think so, they have refuted their own thesis: the scientists’ own decision to study rationality is undermined by an aimless, purposeless process, leading a critic to question whether their own rationality is rational.

This is based on findings that fewer swallows are winding up as roadkill. This again, though, even if the statistics are legitimate, does nothing to confirm neo-Darwinism. It does not find that a mutation has created an innovation. It might just mean that the clumsiest birds have already died. The remainder are all still members of the same species.

Often, those with 13 -year cycles coexist with others on 17 -year cycles. That fact alone refutes the neo-Darwinian position that fitter species displace others. Moreover, they’re all cicadas, members of the same genus Magicicada. Even strict creationists allow for that amount of variation within created kinds. The ending part of the paper’s Discussion section included a mixture of hubris and humility: “Our results support the idea that life cycle plasticity has been a creative force in the evolution of Magicicada, ” they said. “However, the regulatory system of Magicicada life cycles and the mechanism of putative life cycle shift are completely unknown and require future comparative genomic studies of 13– and 17 -y periodical cicadas. ” What, exactly, was known?

Any reporter touting “survival of the fattest, ” needless to say, is stretching the idea of “fitness” far astray from what Darwin envisioned.

Nature News, though, claimed that there’s an evolutionary relationship: “Frog feet share human hair origin. ” Surely they did not mean to imply that frog hair evolved from Beatle moptops. Because of similarity in the genes for keratin between the distant species, researchers advanced this leap of faith: “The authors say that these proteins must have arisen in an early tetrapod ancestor before diverging to become hair in mammals and toe pads in frogs. ” Exactly how a suite of complex proteins “arose” was left unexplained.

Evolution Is Not Just Change or Similarity �化不只是改�或相似性 In each of these crazy articles, evolution was assumed, not n demonstrated. “Evolution” has become such a flexible term, it means nothing any more. Darwin tried to link progress from molecules to man to a mechanism that produced innovation without a designer, but where is it? These stories are all nonsensical in that context. Whatever is observed, evolved. Whatever exists, emerged. That’s the new rule, no matter how contrary to expectations, no matter how trivial the change, no matter how illogical. Even strong evidence for design is twisted into supposed evidence for evolution. Evolutionists have succeeded in committing the perfect crime, the ultimate scam. It’s time to unmask these charlatans. Send them back to basics. They have completely lost their way as to what science is and what it’s supposed to be. Sadly, their way is leading millions astray. They need a healthy dose of shame.

The Trouble with Zircons �石的困境 n n Geologists’ favorite tool for dating rocks at millions and billions of years old has revealed problems with interpretation. Zircons are hard minerals that can contain uranium. To secular geologists, they act like ideal time capsules, sealed from outside influences. They are used frequently to date deposits with a claimed high precision, but is it possible to trust them too much?

The Trouble with Zircons �石的困境 n n The abstract of a paper in Geology by American scientists claims that detrital zircons show “no drainage link between southern California rivers and the Colorado Plateau from mid. Cretaceous through Pliocene. ” The zircons told a tale at odds with views that the Grand Canyon began cutting hundreds of millions of years ago. “Although Paleogene headwaters of southern California rivers extended into the eastern Mojave Desert, Sonoran Desert, and Mogollon Highlands, our results indicate that these headwaters did not extend as far as the Colorado Plateau. This conclusion conflicts with the hypothesis of a Paleogene southwestflowing Arizona River, but supports late Miocene–Pliocene drainage reorganization and integration of the Colorado River coincident with development of the Salton Trough and Gulf of California. ”

In “Mobilization of radiogenic Pb in zircon revealed by ion imaging: Implications for early Earth geochronology, ” a team from Sweden, Poland Australia began with a warning: “Zircon is arguably the most commonly used geochronometer, but the reliability of ages obtained requires a full understanding of processes that might compromise the integrity of its U-Pb systematics. ” In an effort to quantify the effects of metamorphism, the team used an ion microprobe on Antarctic zircons and found concordances and disconcordances. “Ion images of uranogenic Pb reveal a surprising micrometer-scale patchy distribution that is unrelated to crystal morphology or damage, ” they said. The abstract cautioned,

Scanning ion imaging thus facilitates identification of unsupported radiogenic Pb and enables testing of the validity of old ages from zircon known to have a long and complicated history. ”

The Trouble with Zircons �石的困境 n Careful reading of that statement might raise more questions than the geologists are asking. Who does the interpreting? What rules of interpretation are employed? Do those rules change over time? How do they know when and where an “ancient redistribution” of radiogenic lead occurred? If that process can produce meaningless ages, what other undiscovered processes might also generate meaningless ages? Who decides what is a relict of ancient zircon or not? How is “unsupported” radiogenic lead identified? Can rules for the validity of zircon ages be established independent of the consensus geologic time scale? Who knows how long and complicated the history of these zircons was? How is it determined it was a long history, independent of the belief they were ancient? If the history is complicated, what unknowns, unknowns and unknowable unknowns might have contributed to the complications?

The Trouble with Zircons �石的困境 n Despite these concerns, Geology routinely updates its official time scale. The latest was published in December 2012, claimed to be astonishingly accurate for time periods no human has ever observed: “Over the past 100 years, the confluence of processbased geological thought with observed and approximated geologic rates has led to coherent and quantitatively robust estimates of geologic time scales, reducing many uncertainties to the 0. 1% level. ”

The Trouble with Zircons �石的困境 n We’ll leave it to geophysicists to evaluate the import of these papers, but philosophers of science and competent readers skeptical of ruling consensi should be alert to handwaving exercises used by practitioners within the guild who might be blind to questions outside the paradigm.

Scientific Findings Can Be Counterintuitive 科学研究�果可以是�反直�的 n n n Here are examples of recent claims in science that seem to contradict what some would consider intuitively obvious. They should be kept in mind when evaluating other widely-accepted scientific truisms, like evolution. Phys. Org: Tough love, not small, incremental effort, is needed to turn around failing schools. Medical Xpress: Conservatives with their strict morality tend to be happier than fancy-free liberals. BBC News: The large horns on rhinoceros beetles do not slow them down during flight. Nature: Greenland defied ancient global warming.

Scientific Findings Can Be Counterintuitive 科学研究�果可以是�反直�的 n n n Phys. Org: Geo-engineering to reduce global warming can have severe unintended consequences. Nature: Tropical forests are unexpectedly resilient to climate change. Phys. Org: African elephants do better in educated countries than in those with large nature reserves. Live Science: Fossil footprint depth can be misleading; depth is not necessarily related to pressure. Nature: The anus is a sophisticated organ. Calling it a “remarkable orifice, ” author Mary Roach said, “No engineer could design something as multifunctional and fine-tuned as an anus. To call someone an asshole is really bragging him up. ”

Scientific Findings Can Be Counterintuitive 科学研究�果可以是�反直�的 n In a final example of counterintuitive findings, Live Science now claims that brain size didn’t drive human evolution. It’s the organization of the brain, not its size, that makes the difference between humans and lower primates. What would Morton and Broca have thought? This contradicts decades of assumptions about what drove humans forward in evolution. But was the prefrontal cortex the “driving force” in the human brain, as the article assumed, or a distinguishing characteristic of an already well-designed being? Who would argue the evolutionary line without assuming it to be the seat of rationality?

Scientific Findings Can Be Counterintuitive 科学研究�果可以是�反直�的 n Science is supposed to lead us away from seductive, fallible intuition (Bacon’s Idols of the Theater) toward verifiability. Yet scientists often contradict one another. One thing is true this year; the opposite the next. Don’t let intuition be your guide. Darwin’s natural selection may seem intuitively obvious the way it is usually presented, but it is a vacuous idea: the Stuff Happens Law (9/15/2008, 9/22/2009). We must not be fooled, even when the majority falls in line with insufficiently argued suppositions.

Freckled Trilobites Had Great Eyes 有雀斑的三叶虫有很大的眼睛 n n Darlings of the Cambrian Explosion, trilobites had spotted markings and sophisticated eyes. Some have been exceptionally well preserved as fossils, down to the level of individual cells. The compound eyes of trilobites had dozens of individual lenses, each with complex photoreceptor organs at the base. They were described by Science Now, “Looking a Trilobite in the Eye, ” as like those of today’s insects and crustaceans.

Freckled Trilobites Had Great Eyes 有雀斑的三叶虫有很大的眼睛 n n “The sensory cells underneath the lenses, however, were ephemeral, and scientists had always assumed that they had decayed without a trace. “So imagine Brigitte Schoenemann’s surprise when she spotted fossilized versions of these delicate sensory cells while xraying a long dead trilobite with a computed tomography (CT) scanner. “I expected that we would see [something] in the lens of trilobites, but then suddenly we saw structures of cells below the lens, ” recalls Schoenemann, a physiologist at the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne, both in Germany. Inspired, she applied to take more fossils to the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, France, where she could use a particle accelerator’s high energy x-rays to peer deeper into the trilobites’ eyes. Now, she says, she’s created images of the extinct animal’s entire visual system, down to the level of fossilized individual cells.

Beneath each lens, round sensory cells are arranged like petals around a diamond-shaped photoreceptor able to pick up the dim light that filtered down through the Earth’s ancient oceans. Pigment cells filled in the space between the blooms and likely made trilobite eyes appear brownish-black. ”

Freckled Trilobites Had Great Eyes 有雀斑的三叶虫有很大的眼睛 n The article said this discover brings researchers “one step closer to understanding the evolution of vision, ” and that new lab techniques have “brought out really new knowledge … about the early evolution of eyes. ” Richard Fortey at London’s Natural History, commenting on the fact that these eyes resemble those of living horseshoe crabs, said, “If you have an optical system that works, it can last. ” He didn’t comment on how the trilobite eye arose in the first place. The first trilobites already had compound eyes.

A paper in Geology reported spotted patterns on the shells of some exquisitely-preserved trilobite fossils found in New York. The authors speculated they might have been for camouflage. National Geographic described the techniques the team used to conclude the spots were original, not artifacts of the fossilization process (see also Live Science and Nature). The specimens had some 500 calcite-filled spots arranged in patterns that might have scattered light and blurred the image of the animal to passing predators.

As for their function, the article “cautioned against ascribing a function for the spots on an extinct organism, noting that it’s very difficult to know for sure how the animal used them. ” Speaking of the Cambrian Explosion, another phylum joins the forty or so phyla that “emerged” without ancestors at the base of the Cambrian. Nature reported that acorn worms (tubiculous enteropneusts) alleged to be 500 million years old have been found in the Burgess Shale in Canada, suggesting to the authors that “hemichordates originated at the onset of the Cambrian explosion. ” Exactly how they “originated” fully formed was not explained. Flexing his thesaurus, though, Henry Gee tried to spin an evolutionary tale out of the finding in a companion piece in Nature:

The fossil record preserves all kinds of possibly intermediate morphologies between one creature and another. But the record is notoriously delphic, if not laconic, and on this subject it has even less to say than usual. Enteropneusts, being soft-bodied, do not preserve well as fossils: their record in stone is exiguous in the extreme. ” Readers may wish to look up some of those words, but here’s a hint: they have to do with paucity of evidence, such that a variety of conflicting stories can be concocted from the same observations.

One is the fact that they appear abruptly in the record, fully formed, with no ancestors displaying a record of “the early evolution of eyes. ” Another is the fact that horseshoe crabs are similar to trilobites in many ways. Horseshoe crabs are living fossils by themselves, having appeared abruptly, supposedly existing over 450 million years with no changes to the present. Lastly, the trilobite fossils show exquisite preservation, down to the level of spots and individual photoreceptor cells below the clearlydefined lenses. Why do we continue to buy into the evolutionary story and timeline? It makes no sense in light of the evidence.

Before the Cock Crows, the Biological Clock Strikes �叫以前，生物�触� n n At Easter time, people recall the story of Peter denying Jesus three times before the rooster crowed. Some scientists tried to figure out what clicks the rooster’s clock alarm. A trio of Japanese scientists wanted to know if rooster crowing is triggered by external cues (such as brightening before daybreak) or an internal clock. Describing their findings in Current Biology, they found that roosters kept in steady dim light continued to crow before the dawn hours, but over days, the timing tended to scatter. This suggests that crowing is primarily triggered by an internal clock – but that its accuracy wavers without external cues.

That reliable morning call, though, provides a natural alarm clock for country folk (but one without a snooze button). Science Now and Phys. Org reported on the findings. “We still do not know why a dog says ‘bow-wow’ and a cat says ‘meow, ’” one of the authors said. “We are interested in the mechanism of this genetically controlled behavior and believe that chickens provide an excellent model. ”

But you can be sure they understand completely how hydrogen evolved into people. Would that scientists focus on experiments like this that rest on observation, testing, and repeatability instead of imagination.

He could foretell the final denial just seconds before the natural rooster alarm went off. That by itself would be remarkable, but so much more evidence makes the conclusion unavoidable: Christ was the Son of God. Consider the prophecies written centuries before He came, as in Isaiah 53. Then there is the resurrection evidence: the empty tomb, 500 eyewitnesses of His resurrection at one time, the dramatic turnaround of the fearful disciples into faithful witnesses unto martyrdom, and more. For Easter, treat yourself to two excellent documentary films, The Case for Christ and Prophecies of the Passion.

Massa and Edward Boudreaux published n a paper on “Formic Acid: A Significant but Ignored Product in the Miller-Urey Experiment” in the Creation Research Society Quarterly 2013. 49: 211 -217. The abstract states that “In 1953 Stanley Miller tested a hypothesis put forward by A. I. Oparin and, later, J. B. S. Haldane concerning the origin of life. The classic experiment is frequently cited in the popular literature and programming as evidence supporting the formation of primitive cellular organisms from polypeptides that self-organized over millions of years….

The Problem of Formic Acid in Miller Experiment 米勒��中的甲酸�� n “Yet many of the reaction products from Miller’s experiment are more problematic for the model than advocates readily admit. Among these is formic acid, reportedly present at about double the combined concentrations of identified amino acids including glycine, alanine, aspartic acid, and glutamic acid. Formic acid can produce a significant negative impact on the formation and stability of components such as a hypothetical polypeptide. Consequently, advocates of the Oparin-Haldane-Miller theory are faced with an acute problem. The present paper explores the reaction chemistry of aqueous formic acid an imaginary polypeptide assumed to be present in the primordial ocean. ”

All amino acids are in both the left-handed and right-handed versions. u 3. Many other acids were also formed. u 4. The combined p. H of all acids was 1. 8, a very acidic solution. u 5. Hydrolysis reactions are highly favorable. Thus, the imagined polypeptide would never form.

The Problem of Formic Acid in Miller Experiment n 米勒��中的甲酸�� The paper concludes that “although the reducing atmosphere on earth required for Miller’s scenario is no longer accepted by geologists, Miller’s discovery of amino acids continues to be offered as support for the Oparin-Haldane origin-of-life hypothesis… Ignored in these considerations is the impact of various reaction products, such as formic acid, on subsequent hypothesized chemical events leading to the hypothetical proto-cell…

The Problem of Formic Acid in Miller Experiment n 米勒��中的甲酸�� “the highly acidic environment in Miller’s ‘soup’ (neglecting potential degradation due to other energy sources; e. g. temperature or light) makes a hostile nursery for either developing polypeptide stability. The problem is further frustrated by the presence of neighboring functional groups that assist with chain cleavage. It is therefore altogether unclear how polypeptides could form, or even survive, in this highly acidic milieu.

The Problem of Formic Acid in Miller Experiment n 米勒��中的甲酸�� “To produce peptides and maintain them for further chemical evolution, the peptides formed must be isolated from all the cumulated degrading chemicals present in the reaction mixture. This point is also true for the required chiral purity of amino acids and coagents needed to produce a hypothetical biologically active polypeptide. How this isolation could naturally occur can only be the product of speculation and presents a monumental impasse for the hypothesis of chemical evolution. ”
