Verbos Irregulares • While some verbs follow a regular pattern of subject endings, others have irregular endings or forms • These irregular verbs simply need to be memorized through practice (since there is no pattern to apply like with regular verbs) • Ser—to be—is a very common irregular verb
Ser • The words “am”, “is” and “are” are really different forms of “to be” in english • Ser can be translated as any of those forms of “to be” • Ser is mainly used to describe permanent traits of things • We will use Ser along with our description vocab to practice describing things

Origen • One specific description we make with ser is to talk about where people come from: origen • To ask someone where they are from we say: “¿De dónde eres/es? ” • To reply we say: “Soy de country”
