How we are protecting our families and staff during Covid-19 • Following all Government Guidelines in relation to Covid-19. • Staff trained in Infection Prevention and Control. • Masks will be worn by adults in the building. • Regular thorough cleaning takes place throughout the building. • Small group sizes in line with Government Guidelines.
Prep for Preschool The Prep for Preschool Group is for children aged 1 year and 9 months – 3+ and their parents/carers. The programme aims to prepare children for preschool by supporting them to make a positive transition from home to preschool in partnership with their parents/carers. Children are given the opportunity to develop their independence, social emotional skills, language and communication skills. Parents/carers are facilitated to make a gradual separation from their child and attend their own group which encourages them to build relationships, make connections and access information and further supports, if needed. € 10 contribution per month.
Afterschool activities for children aged 3 ½ 6, with a focus on child development. Monday and Thursday activities include free play, arts and crafts, mindfulness, music and movement and outdoor play. Tuesday Afterschool will run for 4 weeks with a focus on Science. Wednesday Afterschool will run for 4 weeks with a focus on Sensory Play. € 10 contribution per month.
Positive Health and Wellbeing for Adults - Including relaxation, mindfulness and coping strategies This course is for parents/carers to support them with their personal development in a small group setting. The course will explore positive health and wellbeing and explore coping strategies to deal with situations and stresses of everyday life. You will also learn techniques in relaxation and mindfulness. Limited childcare available if required. € 10 contribution for 4 week course € 3 contribution per session if childcare is required.
Parent & Child Zoom Large Group Time A group for families with children aged 0 -3. We will sing a variety of songs, developing language and communication skills, and build on concentration and attention span. Repetition of routine and songs encourages children and families to join in and become engaged.
One to One Family Support Parenting support is offered to parents/ carers individually or through joint parent and child work. The joint parent and child work focuses on enhancing the relationship through play activities in the centre. Appointment times available throughout the week to suit needs.
One to One Advocacy and Support for Adults Parents/carers are provided with information about other programmes and services available in the community that offer supports tailored to their needs. Hill Street FRC staff work in partnership with other agencies and services advocating on behalf of our families and encourage changes at a legislative level. Furthermore, we support families to claim their rights and entitlements, including access to education, employment or legal rights.
Circle of Security Parenting Course This course is designed to support parents/carers and strengthen their parenting skills. It covers a range of parenting topics including communication and dealing with behavioural issues. Limited childcare available if required. € 25 contribution for 10 week course € 3 contribution per session if childcare is required.
Adult English Class A welcoming environment to learn to improve your English through conversation with other parents in a supportive class. Limited childcare available if required. € 10 contribution per month € 3 contribution per session if childcare is required.
Creative Mindfulness Strategies A group for learning simple strategies to practice mindfulness with your child at home. Parents/carers and children can feel unsure or overwhelmed in daily life, particularly during the current crisis. The aim of the group is to give parents/carers skills and confidence to implement some mindful practice at home with their children. Limited childcare available if required. € 10 contribution for 4 week course € 3 contribution per session if childcare is required.
Adult Counselling Confidential counselling service available to adults 18+. Please leave your contact details on the counselling line messaging service and a counsellor will get back to you. Play Therapy Play therapists work with children and families to nurture change and development.
