Collaborating with my mentor I collaborated with my mentor and we talked about how I can improve for my 8 th grade project. My mentor told me I have to practice every night to get better. She will teach me how to write in this language and I will have to practice writing it. We also talked about using resources and how I can search online for videos and stuff like that to improve more.

What I did This month my mentor taught me some new words. She also played a song in this language and told me what it meant. My mentor told me about the culture and told me many things. We have been practicing how to say hello, how are you, what are you doing, etc. I have also learned the alphabet and how to write some words in the language. I have learned many things this month.

Goal for next month My goal for next month is to learn lots more words and how to write them. I also want to start speaking simple sentences like Hello, how are you my name is. . . I will also look up videos and websites to improve and practice on my own. I also want to learn to start a conversation and carry that conversation. If my dad calls that month I would like to speak to him in Farsi because he also can speak it and he would be proud of me. My brother is learning this language so I want to speak and practice with him too.
