Senior Year Time. Table September � � Mark calendar with registration, admission, and financial aid deadlines and fees. Register for fall SAT or ACT if necessary. Narrow list of potential colleges and start completing early admission college applications. Search for possible scholarships. October-December � � � Attend campus-visit programs/ If possible, visit you top school choices Attend college planning , info nights, and college fairs Review final college list with high school counselor and parent. Request recommendations from employers, teachers, and counselors. Finalize and submit college applications online and mail any supporting documentation. Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Opens Oct 1 st

Senior Year Time Line January � � � Continue Scholarship search. Apply for any and all Scholarships Submit paper or online housing application for best selection. Make sure your high school send mid-year report to colleges selected. March � Visit campuses on final college list. April-May � � � Attend campus-visit program at the college of your choice, if you haven’t Review college acceptance and scholarship awards. Pick your college and send in your deposit. Notify other colleges of your decision.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI) The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in college. Students are required to take an approved assessment before enrolling in college credit classes or otherwise demonstrate they are prepared to meet college reading, writing, and math skill requirements. TSI Exemption Minimum Scores Eligible for TSI Exemption � (old)SAT 1070 Combined with 500 Critical Reading 1070 and 500 Math. (New)SAT 480 Reading and Writing and 530 on Math � ACT 23 Composite with 19 English 23 Composite and 19 Math Cedar Ridge will offer the test on campus. First test will be free. It will cost $5 per section to retest and $15 to retake the whole test. First test on Oct. 29 th. Further dates and locations still to come.

College Application Process � � Gather all necessary material needed to complete application Resume Transcript Brag Sheet List of schools that your are applying to (include their deadlines, application requirements, scholarship dates, admissions requirements) Apply by Deadline (Must have all documentation submitted) Early Decision- Binding Contract � Early Action- Not Binding � Regular Decision � � Know what admission criteria � Automatic Top 10% -Texas Public School Except UT Austin Top 7% Academic Automatic – A&M top 25% combined (old) SAT score of at least 1300 (Math and Critical Reading) with at least a 600 in each of these components, (new) SAT score at least 1360 with at least 620 Math and 660 Reading and Writing or composite ACT score of at least 30 with at least a 27 in the Math and English components
