Narrow list of potential colleges and start completing early admission college applications. Search for possible scholarships. October-December � � � Attend campus-visit programs/ If possible, visit you top school choices Attend college planning , info nights, and college fairs Review final college list with high school counselor and parent. Request recommendations from employers, teachers, and counselors. Finalize and submit college applications online and mail any supporting documentation. Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Opens Oct 1 st

April-May � � � Attend campus-visit program at the college of your choice, if you haven’t Review college acceptance and scholarship awards. Pick your college and send in your deposit. Notify other colleges of your decision.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI) The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in college. Students are required to take an approved assessment before enrolling in college credit classes or otherwise demonstrate they are prepared to meet college reading, writing, and math skill requirements. TSI Exemption Minimum Scores Eligible for TSI Exemption � (old)SAT 1070 Combined with 500 Critical Reading 1070 and 500 Math. (New)SAT 480 Reading and Writing and 530 on Math � ACT 23 Composite with 19 English 23 Composite and 19 Math Cedar Ridge will offer the test on campus. First test will be free. It will cost $5 per section to retest and $15 to retake the whole test. First test on Oct. 29 th. Further dates and locations still to come.
