IMPLEMENTATION Ø Tagging of 1. 7 mil. items with conversion stations (outsourced) Ø Ensure students have access cards with university IDs (not using Myfare card and Myfare reader) Ø Staff stations with tag reader (Millennium item status API) Ø Book return units with bin (SIP 2 - Millennium & Bibliotheca) Ø Self check out units with bin (SIP 2 - Millennium & Bibliotheca) Ø Sorting unit with 9 bins (SIP 2 - Millennium & Bibliotheca) Ø Logins: created by III per Sip 2 unit
IMPLEMENTATION Ø Statistics per login/stat group from Millennium Ø Decided on a hybrid system (eg. cannot check out more than 1 item at self check out, sensitizing must be done separately) Ø Changes to infrastructure: § Book return units required physical changes (built in) § Additional data and power points

Challenges ØOnly On Holdshelf status is identified by sorter (SIP 2) ØItems at branch libraries can only be verified as belonging to the specific branch by physically checking item ØWhen an item is returned via the book return, replacement cost is not automatically waived (SIP 2) ØPatron barcode not printed on return receipt (SIP 2) ØItems tagged but information is incorrect or tag is empty ØInventory and shelf reading using Bibliowand not effective eg. items attached to same bib record must be in same order on shelf as on Oasis
