Positive self-concept: ü Gives you confidence to try new things and see failures as opportunities to learn. ü Makes you secure to make friends, make own decisions and manage problems. ü Builds solid foundation for success in life!
Motivation • Motivation: reason for doing something in a particular way External motivation vs internal motivation.

Internal: Self-motivation If you are self-motivated, you are motivated to achieve something because of your own interest without being influenced to do so by other people. • Self-motivation: your ability to commit to meeting a goal because it is something you want to do. • Most powerful motivator.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELFMOTIVATION AND SELF-CONCEPT • Self-motivation helps you to feel good about yourself, it helps you to build a positive selfconcept. • If you feel good about yourself, you will want to be the best “you” possible. • Wanting to be the best “you” possible is the root of self-motivation. • If you have a healthy self-concept, you will be self -motivated to aim for success in whatever you do.
