P/C UNI SHOOTER aka “SEXY FISH” Date: 12 MAY 2019 Location: Cerritos Yacht Anchorage BOA: Ocean Blue Environmental Case Synopsis: 40’ P/C with a 300 gallon discharge potential sank in Wilmington, CA. Vessel was raised, dewatered, and remained afloat through use of temporary patches; BOA contractor stung fuel tanks. Estimate of 100 gallons discharged; operation plus the removal and disposal of all product and contaminated material was a $56 K federal project to the OSLTF. Irregularities: Inconsistent paperwork, Forged documentation, Nexus to other people and vessels involved in pollution cases, Prompted increased interagency involvement for possible illicit activity Above: SEXY FISH in Wilmington, CA

P/C LADY Pier Edge Date: 24 AUG 2019 Location: Sunset Aquatic Park, Huntington Harbor BOA: Ocean Blue Environmental; Global Diving & Salvage/ NRC-ES Case Synopsis: Responded to the 62’ wooden hull vessel, sunken with a 600 gallon potential. Unable to reach the owner for initial response; federal project cost $5, 800 for initial cleanup. Estimate of discharge was 20 gallons (previous non-federal case SEP 2018). P/C ORION Date: 23 OCT 2019 Location: Shoreline Marina, Rainbow Harbor Case Synopsis: Team dispatched to incident location and found a leaking waste bin with soiled sorbent pads, on a pier. Source of pollution could not be determined at the time. Samples were taken from two suspected RPs, with differing accounts of how/ who deposited the product into the waste bin. Sample results were conclusive to one RP, case is being processed for enforcement action. (previous civil penalty case with identified RP in 2016 for illegal passengers for hire violations).
