Second Conditional
We use the Second Conditional to talk about unreal situations in the present or future. If + S + V 2 , S + would + V 1 Past Simple wouldn’t
Example 1: CURRENT SITUATION: I don’t make enough money. If + S + V 2, S + would + V. If I made enough money, I would buy a new car.
You can change the positions of the structure If+S+V 2, S+would+V x S+would+V. if+S+V 2.
Example 2: CURRENT SITUATION: Taras doesn’t speak English. If + S + V 2, If he spoke S + would + V 1. he would get a English, better job.
Example 3: CURRENT SITUATION: Linda doesn’t go in for sport. If + S + V 2, S + would + V 1. If she went in for sport, she would be in better shape.
