Entry into Poly Using N(A) level results- Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) What is PFP? One year practice-oriented curriculum to prepare polytechnic-bound N(A) students for entry into diploma courses.
Entry into Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) Who should apply: Students who are amongst the top 15% of the Sec 4 NA cohort and who wish to enter Polytechnic. PFP intake increase from 1, 200 to 1, 500 Application: Eligible N(A) students will be invited to apply for the Polytechnic Diploma courses of their choice after the release of GCE O-Level results. Subject Options after Sec 2 NA
Students who obtain 70% or higher (average of all subjects) and deemed able to cope with Express course can be laterally transferred to Sec 3 Express SBB Students who pass their SBB subject are allowed to take subject at O level standards, while in N(A) stream - Mother Tongue, Mathematics, English, Science, Geography, History, Literature This arrangement will be withdrawn from pupils who are not copping with the higher demands at end of 3 NA
Non SBB students are allowed to take subject at O level standards, while in N(A) for the following: Hum(SS/Geography) – Obtain A 1 in overall for Geography Hum(SS/History) – Obtain A 1 in overall for History Literature – Obtain A 2 in overall for Literature Mathematics – If student is doing N level Additional Mathematics This arrangement will be withdrawn from pupils who are not copping with the higher demands at end of 3 NA
