Some Tips to Keep in Mind • Start with your name, address (city & state only), phone # and email address — create a header • Use a standard heading for all documents (cover letter, resume, reference page) • Keep it to one page • Include GPA if 3. 0 or better • Keep font size between 10 and 12; 1 inch margins • Bold, underline, italics help to highlight significant information • Tailor your resume to match the job description Albers School of Business and Economics

Cover Letter Overview • Always include a cover letter with a resume • Maintain consistency in all documents – margins, header, font type and size • Be formal, to-the-point, confident and professional • Be specific about what you have to offer and why you are interested in the position • PROOFREAD!!!
