Topstitched Seam Topstitching holds bulky seam allowances flat and emphasizes the seam of a garment Stitch a 5/8 standard seam Press seams open Topstitch along each side of the seam, through both layers of fabric and equal distance

Double-Stitched Seam This seam works well on curved seams, such as armhole or crotch

Double-Stitched Seam This seam works well on curved seams, such as armhole or crotch seams Stitch a 5/8 inch seam-right sides together Stitch again about 1/8 inch from the seam line in the seam allowance A narrow zigzag stitch may be used for this second row (ONLY IF YOU DON’T GO OVER THE FIRST SEAM!!!) Trim the seam allowances close to the stitching
