Avant World. Speak • World. Speak measures the speaking and writing proficiency levels of so-called Less Commonly Taught Languages, or LCTLs. • Students begin with a self-assessment based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) Can. The test will provide helpful instructions at the beginning of each section. Please read the instructions carefully. • Based on their score students are given four Speaking and four Writing prompts with three prompts delivered at the self-assessed level and one prompt delivered at a level above the selfassessed level.
