Determines the nature and extent of the information needed. 1. Recognize and articulate information need Describes criteria used to make information decisions and choices Revises research question Cannot define their research question II. Accesses needed information effectively and efficiently. 2. Identify relevant resource tools Selects among various technologies the most appropriate one for the task of extracting the needed information Selects a few appropriate sources Cannot determine which resources to use III.
