Background: Student Diversity Council What is the Student Diversity Council? The Student Diversity Council (SDC) is the umbrella organization for student groups on campus that are focused on issues of racial, cultural, sexual, and/ or gender diversity. Mission Statement: The mission of the Student Diversity Council (SDC) is to educate Furman- affiliated individuals and the Greenville community on topics of cultural diversity while advocating for cultural understanding, awareness, and equality. Vision Statement: As the umbrella organization for multicultural organizations on campus, the Student Diversity Council (SDC) seeks to share the responsibility of promoting and sustaining diversity at Furman to campuswide entities through two-way dialogue, co-sponsorships, and collaboration with the Greenville community.

Submit to the council an oral report of the state of the treasury at every meeting. 3. Prepare written financial reports for the Student Diversity Council upon request. 4. Maintain communication with the treasurers of member organization and monitor their spending. 5. Approve all budgeted check requests.

Maintaining a Budget 1. Ensure that you are aware of all money requests. 2.

You will receive emails when a check request or credit card request has been made allowing you to keep your organization budget up to date. 3. Be intentional in your spending. 4. The SDC Treasurer will send out an email on the 1 st of each month letting you know the amount left in your organization account. 5. Collection of student organization fees. 6. Issuing receipts.

Fill out the form including the amount and organization at least 2 days before you need the credit card. Pick up the credit card and leave a from of ID. Make your purchase. Keep the receipt from your purchase. Turn in the credit card with receipt.

You will also need the W-9 form and contract for a check request. *** 5. WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE APPROVAL FROM THE SDC TREASURER. 6. The check will come into Queen Deb or Mrs. Dianne and you can pick it up on the day of the event.
