Scottish Highland Cattle (Scottish Highland Coos) are among the most beautiful looking of the cattle breeds. They are recognizable by their unique shaggy coats of wavy hair and striking horns. There are records dating back to the 17 thcentury. That makes them the oldest living breed of cattle in the world.

NATURAL HABITAT The natural habitat of Scottish Highland cattle is the rough hillside and natural wetland. The Highland cow prefers to live in woods and forests. Highlands are known as a hardy breed due to the rugged nature of their native Scottish Highlands, with high rainfall and very strong winds.

With such long coats and enormous, tapered horns these cattle have a magnificent, even fearsome, look about them. In fact, they are remarkably even tempered beasts.
