Varied Reading Materials • Using websites • Comics and graphic You can find out about authors, play games and take part in activities, read reviews of books and write your own. • Magazines and newspapers novels Add these if the pupil shows an interest. Pictures, action and humour can be very motivating. Check for suitability. Some graphic novels can have very adult themes. Look at LTS literacy website for some ways to use graphic novels and some other general resources. Pupils come across these in everyday life. Check for suitability. Learning and Teaching Scotland
