Scotland identity Scotland is located in northern Europe and is of 78’ 789 km² wide. The coastline is of 12’ 000 km long. It’s one of the three historical provinces of Great Britain with Wales and England. The Northwest Channel separates south western Scotland from Northern Ireland. The northwest coast faces the Atlantic Ocean. East faces the North Sea, which separates Scotland from the mainland of Europe. The river Tweed and the Cheviot Hills form Scotland’s southern border with England.
