Science Project Title Category: Student Name Materials Problem / Question Enter your question here (statement of the problem) Hypothesis/Engineering Goal • Write hypothesis before you begin the experiment • This should be an If…then…because… statement based on your research • If you are doing an engineering project, this section should be your Engineering Goal Photos Quantity (detailed list) Materials (be specific) Amount Item Amount Item 2. This should be step 2 Results/Data Analysis • Include results based on your experiments • Result 2 • Result 3 Procedure 1. Write out all steps in your procedure in a numbered list MS. or HS. Project Data / Observations • Observation 1 Charts • Observation 2 • Observation 3 Variables Controlled variables Independent variable Dependent variable • These are kept the same throughout your experiments • The one variable you purposely change and test • The measure of change observed because of independent variable • Decide how you will measure the change Variables may look different for engineering design projects. Photos Graphs Conclusion • Brief summary of what you discovered based on results • Indicate and explain whether or not the data supports your hypothesis
Project Title Student Name Project Board Rules • A virtual project board must be uploaded prior to the deadline set for the fair. • All ISEF Display and Safety Rules must be followed as well as any additional rules below. Category: Abstract Include your abstract summary. Do not use the official abstract form here, just copy and paste the summary portion. • Students are allowed a maximum of five slides. • Information to include in the slides are: Your name and category and if this is a middle school or high school project. Also include the following: Problem/Question, Hypothesis or Engineering Goal, Variables, Materials, Procedure, Data, Graphs, Results, Conclusion, Abstract, Bibliography, and Photo Credits. • Set up the information needed for the project in a way that would create a story about your project. Students should use the template to develop their slides. Students are strongly encouraged to format the slides to change colors, text box sizes, move panels, etc. Be creative but follow the guidelines of what information to be included as listed above.
