Rejection of Ahadeeth due to Critisim of Narrators. n n n n n A hadith could be rejected because one of the narrators or more are described with one of the following: (1) Lying (2) Being accused of Lying (3) Committing sins openly (Fisq) (4) Innovation (5) The narrator being unknown (6) Poor Memory (7) Contradicting more reliable narrators (8) Being known for making errors and serious mistakes.

Ibn Hajar (May Allah have mercy on him) has a second definition: It is the hadith whose isnaad contains a narrator who has committed serious mistakes, unable to distinguish true from false or he is an open sinner. Ibn Abee Hatim said: this is a hadith munkar, because other reliable transmitters narrated this hadith from Abee Ishaq as a mawqouf hadith.

Al-Hadith Al-Matrouk ������� n n n Definition: It is the hadith that is only narrated through someone accused of being a liar, and this hadith is only known through him. Usually, a hadith is Matrouk if it contradicts well established principles in our deen and was narrated through someone accused of being a liar. A hadith is Matrouk if the narrator is known to be a liar in his everyday speech, even if he is not known for lying when narrating the hadith.

Some scholars place it in a class of its own, not holding it to be a type of weak ahadeeth. The Ruling regarding its narration: Scholars are in agreement that it is not permissible to narrate it except to explain that it is fabricated.

(2) Some indication in the matn: Very weak language or contains something that is contradicting to a clear text from the Quran. (3) Outward Indication: the narrator is an innovator and the narration supports his innovation. (4) Huge reward for little deeds and a severe punishment for a minor sin.
