History of the Science Fiction film (1902 -) � 1900’s – 1920’s, sci-fi were made early in the time of silent films was a short black and white clip. �The first sci-fi movie was released in 1902, it was called Le Voyage dans la Lune. �Movies during the 30’s were largely influenced by the advent of sound and dialogue, and by the effects of the Great Depression that began in 1929. Audiences began to pursue films with more escapist themes.
