Who am I? n n n Ms Ruus St. Helen’s → Notre Dame → Simon Fraser University → ND Degree: Major Kinesiology, Minor PE Likes: Volleyball, dancing, Harry Potter and Survivor. Dislikes: slow walkers and people who sing in class.

Expectations: n All of the following expectations have been established to ensure a classroom conducive to learning. Everyone has a right to learn! This is OUR Home Court!
Expectations: n Respect: l Who? Your classmates, your teacher, yourselves l What? Your classroom, your school, your books
Expectations: n Responsibilities: 1. You must be prepared for all classes. Ø This means having a pen, pencil, notebook, and TEXTBOOK for every class.
Expectations: n Responsibilities: 2. Please sit in your assigned seat, with your books open and be working on “The Still” when the bell rings. n You are considered late if you are not sitting in your seat working on the still by the time I shut the door
Expectations: n Responsibilities: 3. 4. Listen to instructions the first time they are given. Follow School policies… …especially the uniform policy
Expectations: n Responsibilities: 5. Turn walkmans, MP 3’s, CD players, cell phones (etc. ) OFF and out of your teacher’s sight… …or don’t bring them to class at all!
Consequences: of following responsibilities n Positives: Get work done in class = less homework l Reach full potential l Well prepared for tests especially The Provincial in June l Learn how you learn best l Class is an enjoyable place for everyone to learn l
Consequences: of NOT following expectations n If you CHOOSE to break an expectation: 1 st time: Name on board. Warning 2 nd time: check beside name. Last to be dismissed and discuss your choices after class 3 rd time: 2 checks beside name. Parents contacted, as well as GLC. 4 th time: 3 checks beside name. Student sent to the office and “My Action Plan” form filled out (before return to class) and brought to parents to sign.
Expectations: n Procedures: l l If you miss a test due to an excused absence, you must take the responsibility of contacting your teacher to set up an appropriate time to rewrite it. If you have not done so before the start of the next class you attend, you will receive a mark of ZERO!
