TEACHER VOICE STUDENT SUPPORT Vital that SWAC teacher establishes a community of learners through bonding activities– students need to feel they are part of a whole Regular contact through texting and phone calls would be advisable – students need to feel they will be missed if they are absent SWAC teachers need to alert and sensitive to the mental health needs of students (lagging attendance may be an indication of an issue such as anxiety) – make use of college counselling services
