SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Applications § Road-Construction § Light demolition § Indoor renovation § Gardening and landscaping § Mining and quarrying § Metallurgical industry (slag recycling and cleaning)

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Special Applications – Underground Rock Excavation § Scaler versions – SB 302 SC, SB 452 SC § Tough scaling application – Heavy wear – Blanc firing – Dust penetration § Water nozzles to avoid dust formation § 100 - 110 bar working pressure § Air ventilation required § Reliable lubrication required § Option: Press fit wear bushing How to scale:

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Special Applications – Underwater § Suitable for all SB breakers § Compressor required § Breaker may dive fully underwater A continuous 2 bar air-flushing must be provided!

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Comparison – Working Principle Gas actuation + Constant impact energy - Difficult to adapt carriers - Oil pressure pulsations Oil actuation - Energy not constant without adjustment + No gas accumulator required - Large oil accumulator Oil/gas actuation + Constant impact energy - Gas accumulator required + No/small oil accumulator

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Comparison – Working Principle Gas actuation NPK Oil actuation e. g. Atlas Copco SB Oil/gas actuation e. g. Atlas Copco MB/HB

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Working Principle

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS High Pressure Accumulator § Maintenance free § Prefilled by factory § Robust diaphragm § Reduced distortion § Easy Charging § Accumulator integrated in the body § No expansion bolts

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Overload protection § Integrated Pressure Relief valve § Standard on all SB breakers § Protection against pressure peaks § Opens at 150 bar and more

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Restrictor selection § Integrated Restrictor § Different diameters available § Allows optimal percussive performance § Increases the pressure at nearly constant oil flow

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Restrictor selection

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Connection Ports

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Idle Stroke Protection § Damping oil chamber § No pressure peaks on the piston seals § Too high energy is absorbed § Stress reduction during blanc firing § Vibration reduction on carrier and breaker The Idle Stroke Protection is no 100% insurance. Blanc firing still hurts the breaker and the carrier!

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Control Valve § Mounted on the side § “Revolver” design § Very less internal leakage § Separate valve cover with dust protection SB 52 – 202 SB 302 – 702

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Working Tool Locking System § Double tool retainers § Oval shaped § Reduces tool rotation, torsion and wear § 2 -sided usable § High energy absorption at blanc firing

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Working Tool Locking System § 1 st lock: Retainer bars § 2 nd lock: Locking pin § 3 rd lock: Lock buffer § Less wear § Easy and quick to handle

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Wear Bushing § Full length wear bushing - Standard: floating fitting - Scaler version: press fitting § Only locked by the retainer bars § Quick and easy removable § Integrated dust wiper

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Energy Recovery § Anvil effect § Reuse of recoiled energy § Higher percussive performance § Less vibration and stress to the breaker and carrier E KIN § Increase of impact frequency ! § Constant single blow energy !

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS SB 702 § 60 bar high pressure accumulator § Removable bottom wear plate § Upper press-fit wear bushing § Lower floating wear bushing § Special service tools available

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Maintenance – HP Accumulator § Accumulator repair kit available § Easy refill § No special tools required § 1/8” Minimess adaptor § Service box 1 – 3 can be used

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Maintenance – Wear Bushing § Floating fitting § No press necessary § Service tools available § Local sourcing. Drawings!

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Lubrication § Tools, tool retainers and bushings need to be lubricated regularly § Grease always in an upright position! § Scaler rigs should be fitted with a central lubrication system § Use Atlas Copco chisel paste - High melting point - High level of graphite and copper - Stability and superior lubrication

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II micro § Automatic lubrication pump § Optional equipment for SB breakers § Self bleeding § 150 g cartridges - Refillable - Suitable to chisel paste filling device § Working up to 35 bar back pressure

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II micro - Mounting

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II – Working Principle § Hydraulic grease pump § 1 grease line § 1 pressure line § Direct connected to the breaker § Working principles of Contilube™ II micro and Contilube™ II are equal !

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II – Working Principle Small delivery piston Large delivery piston Delivery adjustment screw Counter nut Set delivery Cartridge seal Cartridge piston Self cutting thread Grease cartridge

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II – Adjustment of the Consumption § Unscrew the counter § Turn clockwise – Delivery decreasing § Turn anti-clockwise – Delivery increasing § Tighten the counter

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II – Adjustment of the Consumption As long as you are able to tighten up the counter nut, the maximum pump delivery is not exceeded.

SB HYDRAULIC BREAKERS Contilube™ II – Adjustment of the Consumption Bottom up the adjusting screw in the casing Unscrew by two turns!
