Saving Searches Library Catalog System

Library Catalog – Home Screen First, you will need to go to the Lane Tech Library online catalog. You can find this by using the shortcut on the desktops in the library, or you can go to the Library Home page and click on the link.

Log In Instructions The Log In button is at the top right-hand of the screen. Simply click on the Log-In Button

Log-In Instructions Once you click the “Log In” button, a screen will pop up. Use your CPS username and password to log in (same as your email log in information).

Using Filters One you search a term, you will see that there are often numerous resources. Use the filters on the left hand side to narrow your results. FYI: Once you are logged in, you can use the Newsbank, Brittanica, and Gale search links in addition to the catalog!

Saving a Search Once you have filtered your search, and you are happy with the resources the search returns, you can click on the “Save Search” option in the top right-hand corner.

Saving a Search You will be prompted to save a new search. Make sure you name the search so that it makes sense and you can remember what the search is for.

Finding Your Search Click on the arrow next to your account. A drop down menu will appear. In this menu, you have many options. One of which is “saved searches. ” Once a search has been saved, you can view or find your searches by clicking on this link.

Viewing Searches Once you select “saved searches” from the drop down menu, this screen will appear. You can navigate using this screen as well by clicking on different tabs.

Saving Lists If you would rather save specific titles, just check the box next to the book you’d like to save, and click the “Select Action” button.

Saving a List A box will pop up with the option to either “choose” a list or to “create” a new list. You will need to create a new list if you have never done so before. Once a list is created, you may add resources at will. Just like when creating and saving searches, make sure that you title the list so that you will remember what resources are in each list.

Finding Saved Lists You can find your saved lists, the same way you find saved searches or access your account activity.
