Satan l l l What is Satan and what is its origin? What is the wisdom behind the creation of the Satan and the permission given to Satan to let mankind astray? Since Satan deceives human for sinning, who is responsible for these actions? How does Satan approach to humankind? What about involuntary thoughts and fancies? Why does Satan insist on disobeying God? 2

What is Satan and what is its origin? Satan was created from fire, like the jinn with whom he mostly kept company. 3

What is the wisdom behind the creation of the Satan and the permission given to Satan to let mankind astray? l If Satan wasn’t created there would be no meaning of the creation of mankind. l Satan is to enable us to develop our potentials, strengthen our willpower 4

Since Satan deceives human for sinning, who is responsible for these actions? l Satan cannot push us to commit a wrong or a sin; His power is limited to that of suggestion and encouragement. l If we are so weak that we allow Satan to deceive us and thus follow him it is our own fault that we end up in Hell. 5

How does Satan approach to humankind? l Satan spiritually attacks people from different directions. l His ruses vary from person to person. 6

What about involuntary thoughts and fancies? l Satan can only suggest or whisper sinful acts. l Satan can never harm a believer as long as he/she rejects his suggestions 7

Why does Satan insist on disobeying God? Satan is so full of anger and hatred against human, even the existence of God, or the existence of hell fire can prevent him from trying to harm human being. 8

l And if a false imputation from the Satan afflict you, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is Hearing, Knowing. l Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when they see aright! 9

We seek refuge with Allah from the cursed Satan 10
