What is Salt Water? �Salt water is water that has a higher concentration of dissolved salts. �Salt water is made during the movement of water on land over time. The components of rocks are eroded and become part of a "salty" solution. �Salt is not the only component in salt water, other chemicals are also classified as salts.

What is Fresh Water? �Fresh water is water that has a low concentration of dissolved salts. �It can be in a liquid, gaseous or solid state. �The word fresh does not mean that the water is drinkable.
