General Observations Access control: Security Checks: The port is a controlled area and all persons entering must undergo security checks at all gates. Pedestrians: Access the port through pedestrian gates Motorists: Through motor vehicle gates. Passengers must alight and enter via pedestrian gates
General Observations • Alcohol, drug and substance use is prohibited. • Welfare facilities are located at various areas. • Photography in the port is prohibited.
Operational Areas Berths, Yards, Workshops Do’s • Wear prescribed PPEs (Helmets, safety shoes, reflective jackets) • Stay clear of moving machinery and trucks • Be ware of working equipment • Avoid horseplay • Observe speed limit 30 km/hr. • Report unsafe acts, conditions & accidents • Avoid yard construction sites
Operational Areas Berths, Yards, Workshops Don’ts • • • Drive / walk along the berths Drive/walk along RTG runways Walk /sit under working cranes Walk between stacked containers in the yards. Loiter Litter Smoke Take Alcohol and other drugs Sit under cranes Encroach onto cordoned off area under construction.
Road Safety Do’s • Observe set speed limits 50 km/hr on main roads and 30 km/hr on operational roads • Observe traffic signs • Wear seat belt • Give way to heavy equipment, machinery and locomotive engine. • Park at designated areas
Road Safety Do’s Pedestrians: E • Use commuter buses. Bus stops: No 1, No. 5( customs) No. 7, New Service Area, Headquarters, CFS Yard and Container Terminal • Slow down and give way at construction sites and equipment.
Road Safety Don’ts • Over speed • Use mobile phone while driving • Drop or pick up passengers at undesignated places
In case of emergency ! Do’s • Use stairs • Exit buildings calmly guided by fire wardens • Assemble at Emergency Assembly Points for further instructions
In case of emergency ! Don’ts • Use elevators • Panic • Re-enter buildings to retrieve personal items • Smoke indiscriminately. • Do not crowd at scene of incident ‘Curiosity killed the cat”.

Key Hazards In The Port Environment • Heavy moving equipment and machinery • Container and cargo carrying trucks • Stacked containers and other cargo in the yards • High voltage powered cranes • Cargo carrying locomotives • Presence of Dangerous/hazardous cargo • General infrastructure

First Aid and Welfare Facilities • First aid services are provided. • Incase of serious injury, ambulance services are provided to take injured person to hospital. • Washrooms are located at every workplace. • Cafes located at Headquarters canteens at various workplaces. • Commuter bus services are available. • Banking services and ATM services : Equity, Barclays, National, Cooperative Banks all located at the headquarters.
