BASIC COMPUTER UPKEEP TIPS. . . To keep your computer running optimally, think about it as you would a human being… All computers need to have periodic checkups!
Basic Computer Upkeep Tips (continued): • Excluding servers, computers should NOT be left on 24/7 • Computers should be restarted at least once each week • Dust should be regularly removed and computers should be maintained at least once a year • If its environmental location is subject to exposure to animals or smokers, the computer needs to be cleaned and maintained more frequently
Check and do these regularly: • Check the integrity of the hard drive by running routine maintenance ie. , surface scan or check disk. • Determine how much space has been used and how it has been allocated • Perform regular Windows updates (for PCs) • Check frequently for anti-virus updates and install them
