Curriculum • The SEGA curriculum assures mastery of the basic knowledge and skills contained in the frameworks of the Francis Howell School District. • SEGA provides an accelerated and enriched curriculum for exceptionally gifted students based on the following principles: – Accelerated and extended learning through curriculum compacting when appropriate. – Advanced training in critical and creative thinking and research skills required in the various academic subjects. – Creative production of projects based on topics of special interest to students. – Special assistance with social and emotional growth. – Mainstreaming for fine arts and physical education with students their own age.

SEGA Outlook 2013/14 and Beyond • As a district committee, we are constantly looking at the Elementary and Middle School SEGA/ Gifted programs to assess the exceptionally gifted students needs. • We will continue to look at various models to find the best fit for not only our students academic needs, but also their social and emotional needs as well in order to better to prepare them to be career and college ready.
