Title Page ● Title of work in all caps, bolded, and centered ● Author(s) ● The words “DO NOT CITE IN ANY CONTEXT WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE AUTHOR(S)” in all caps, unbolded ● Authors’ affiliations, flush left, author bolded with a colon separating authors’ name and affiliation

Headings ● First level headings should be centered, bolded, title case capitalization, and a single line of space above and below ● Second level headings are flush left, italicized, title case capitalization, and with a single line of space above and below ● Third level headings are part of the paragraph, with an indent, italicized, title case capitalization, and followed by a period ○ The text immediately follows this period ● Do not use “INTRODUCTION” or “ABSTRACT” as headings ● References Cited is a primary-level heading

Numbers ● All numbers above nine use numerals ● Spell out numbers zero through nine ● Spell out any numbers at the beginning of the sentence ● Spell out numbers that are used in a general sense (not an actual number) ○ Example: The archeologists recovered several hundred shards. ● Ordinal numbers are always spelled out (i. e. seventh cycle, eighteenth century)

Italics/Quotations Italics Quotation Marks ● Words in languages other than primary language ● When using direct quotes of four lines or less ● Titles of books, journals, etc. , when mentioned in the text ● Article titles

In-Text Citations ● Basic Format: (Last Name Year: page #) OR Last Name (Year: page #) ○ Example: (Larson 2020: 13) / Larson (2020: 13) ● Multiple pages (Last Name Year: #-#) ○ Example: (Kindt 2020: 116 -137) / Kindt (2020: 116 -137) ● Two Authors (Last Name and Last Name Year: page #) ○ Example: (Reese and Hilton 2019: 36) / Reese and Hilton (2019: 36)

In-Text Citations ● Three Authors + (Last Name et al. Year: page #) ○ Example: (Cass et al. 2018: 197) / Cass and others (2018: 197) ***Do not use et al. in text*** ● Separate the use of multiple citations with a semicolon (; ) ○ Example: (Pyper and Day 2020: 187; Nuccitelli and Judge 2020: 23 ● Page numbers are unnecessary unless using a direct quote

References Cited ● Titled “References Cited” bolded ● Alphabetized ● Primary level heading ● All references cited must be in the References Cited page ● No unused references should be included ● Double spaced ● Additional space between each citation

Book Format: Last Name, First Name Year Title in Italics. Publisher, Publication Place. Example: Cusworth, Zack 2020 The Effects on Education on Gender. Colorado. Barnacle Press, Denver, Multiple Authors: Cusworth Zack, and Angela Stout, (and First Name Last Name) (only the first author is last name, first name. Every other is first name last name)

Online Journal Article Format: Last Name, First Name Year Title. Journal Title in Italics volume#(issue#): ##-##. DOI: 00000, accessed date. Example: Cusworth, Zack 2018 Disney and Gender. Family 45(6): 33 -42. DOI: 000000, accessed July 26, 2019.

Web Pages Format: Last Name, First Name Year Title of Site. Electronic document, URL, accessed date month, day, year. Example: Cusworth, Zack 2017 Information on IEP. Electronic document, http: //www. thisdoesnotmatter. com/987987098, accessed April 15, 2019.
