Cultural program EXCURSION IN THE TOMSK HISTORY MUSEUM, VISITING THE EXHIBITION ROMANCE OF TOMSK COMMUNAL APARTMENTS AND THE NKVD MEMORIAL MUSEUM OF POLITICAL REPRESSION HISTORY The NKVD Memorial Museum of Political Repression History has unique exhibits and affords an opportunity to have a look at the documents and artifacts connected with the repressions of 1930 -1940 s. There are the embroideries, maps, and crafts made in prisons and in exile. The museum is unique not only in Tomsk but also worldwide. Cultural program TOUR TO THE MUSEUM OF SLAVIC MYTHOLOGY AND PARTICIPATION IN THE MASTER CLASS DRAW A MATRYOSHKA BY YOURSELF You will visit one of the largest private museums in Siberia where original works of easel painting, graphics, works of applied art based on Slavic history, mythology, epic tales, Russian fairy tales, and customs are represented. The history of Kiev Rus comes alive right in front of you! By participating in the master class, you have the opportunity to paint a matryoshka with your own hands. Cultural program TOMSK BEER PLANT TOUR The history of Tomsk beer began more than 125 years ago. Brewing appeared in our Siberian city thanks to the Prussian man Karl Kruger. He put into operation the first plant in Tomsk in 1877. That is how the history of brewing a frothy, amber, and fragrant drink began in our city. Excursion includes beer and kvass tasting. Cultural program SIBERIAN BOTANICAL GARDEN In the garden’s greenhouses and in the open ground there are more than 6000 species of plants, including more than 2, 000 species of tropical and subtropical plants. This is the largest collection of exotic plants in the Asian part of Russia, an area of 6500 sq. m. Traveling along the alleys of the garden will give you pleasurable moments from encountering with the unique flora of the world! Cultural program COSSACK OSTROG IN SEMILUZHKI This is a historical reconstruction of the 17 th century Russian fortress. During the tour you will: § Get to know about the Russian army in Siberia and abroad, as well as in the other parts of the world; § Get acquainted with the traditions of the Russian way of life, try on the chain mail, the 17 th century helmet of the Russian warrior, try tea from a samovar, bread from a Russian oven; § See the collection of old Russian coins; § Take part in master classes to make dolls-amulets, weave the Russian belt, bake bread in a Russian oven. Cultural program OKOLITSA RURAL PARK Okolitsa is an open-air museum, which is located 17 kilometers from Tomsk. The territory of the park is about 16 hectares. Okolitsa is a place for combining traditions of the people living in the Tomsk region. At ethnographic sites you will get acquainted with the traditions of Russian people. Okolitsa is the venue for the international competition The Feast of the Ax, where carpentry masters and wood carvers compete. The park alleys are adorned with their works.
