The constitution sets few requirements for the presidential elections. ◦ Must be 35 ◦ Resident of the country for 10 years ◦ Must be a citizen They then must have 1, 000 signatures on a petition to run, with no more than 7% coming from one district. 50% of eligible voters must turn out for an election to be valid The candidate must get more than 50% of the vote, and there are run off elections until that is achieved.
