Formative Assessments Formative assessments occur throughout the learning segment and can be more informal

Formative Assessments Formative assessments occur throughout the learning segment and can be more informal because they are not usually graded. Quizzes, rehearsals, conversations, observations, rough drafts - these ongoing assessments provide specific feedback to teachers for the purpose of guiding teaching to improve learning. (Wiggins & Mc. Tighe, 2007).
