RSVP - Booster/AGS Status 1. Cost scrubbing 2. Short term Schedule considerations. 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 1
Cost Scrubbing Reviewing each system with peers in department. Systems reviewed so far: 1. Booster/AGS PFN upgrades 2. First pass look at shield caps (Al Pendzick) 3. AGS Coils 4. AGS H 20 electrostatic septum In addition, eliminated redundancies in project support costs. New cost estimates developed for RF cavities. 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 2
Cost Scrubbing • Booster/AGS PFN upgrades. Change in cost: $-219, 268. Booster Original Materials: Est. $ 248, 900. Booster New Est. Materials: $ 200, 900. AGS Original Est. Materials: $ 339, 500. AGS New Est. Materials: $ 220, 000. 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown Labor: $ 125, 367. Labor: $ 103, 276. Labor: $ 154, 990. Labor: $ 125, 313. 3
AGS Coils & H 20 Septum • New costs for AGS coils is developed based on scrubbing review. Change in costs = $ -13, 415. • New costs for AGS H 20 septum being developed based on review. Expectation is the costs will increase. 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 4
Project Support Found that costs were including project support. So removed redundant project support in WBS. So far eliminated $145, 604. in redundant costs. 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 5
RF Systems New costs being worked up for our effort on 25 MHz and for the 100 MHz system. Preliminary costs (w/o cont. ) are: 1. 100 MHz = $1. 41 M (previously $1. 65 M) 2. 25 MHz = $ 0. 645 M (previously $0. 3 M) 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 6
Schedule considerations What is 1 st year spending plan? Driven by requirement to be ready for low to moderate beam intensity work in 1 st year of beam development studies. 1. Booster Loss monitors 2. C 3 inflector protection 3. Shield Caps 4. Engineering 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 7
Engineering priorities Question is do we focus on getting AGS Extraction ready for low to moderate beam intensities or do we focus on Booster injection? Assume we weight things in the direction of extraction. 1. H 20 electrostatic septum 2. H- injection modifications 3. F 5 magnetic septum 4. LTB collimators 5. AGS Strip-lines for MECO 6. 25 MHz RF 7. Booster/AGS collimation systems. 9/17/2020 AGS RSVP Weekly Meeting K. Brown 8
