RÉSUMÉ FORMATTING • Keep work experience in chronological order (most recent first) • Try to fit in on one page – no more than two pages • Use a clear font such as Times New Roman in size 10 -12 with your name in 20 -30 • Use bold type or italics to highlight important information • Have 1 inch margins on all sides • Your résumé should be NEAT, PROFESSIONAL and EASY TO READ – you only have about 20 seconds to make a good impression • Absolutely NO spelling or grammar errors! Proofread yourself and have others read it as well

RÉSUMÉ WRITING GUIDELINES • You must tell the truth – you will need to backup whatever you say on your résumé • Do not use personal pronouns (I or me) • Research the company (visit the website) to understand their core values • Read the job description carefully so you can highlight your skills that relate to what they are looking for • Include keywords in your résumé pulled from the job description • Focus on your strengths
