REPUBLIC In Rome the people elected leaders. Our Federal government is a Democratic Republic.

REPUBLIC In Rome the people elected leaders. Our Federal government is a Democratic Republic. We vote on our Senators and legislators. They vote on the laws, but have to get re-elected! These leaders called Senators would then vote on the laws in the name of the people. The people could vote out their leaders if they didn’t like their decisions.

After marching for the day the Roman Army built a miniature fortified camp. With wooden walls and ditches. Every time they camped! 4. They practiced frequently.

One of the reasons Rome eventually collapses as an Empire is because their army slowly got lazy. They wore less armor. They trained less. They hired barbarians. They served for less time and were loyal to their generals, not Rome.
