Romans 12 1 2 I beseech you therefore
Romans 12: 1 -2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 1
CHANGE How is God changing yo u?
God is Changing Your Heart and Your Mind • Transformation is an inside-out process – Phil. 2: 12 -13 • As we absorb the teaching of the Holy Spirit, He changes our affections – 1 Pet. 4: 1 -6 • As we diligently spend time with the Word, He changes the way we think – 2 Tim. 2: 15; 2 Cor. 10: 5 • The internal change God works in us leads to the kind of holy living He expects of us – cf. 1 Pet. 1: 13 -15
God is Changing Your Purpose and Your Aims • As our hearts and minds are changed, so is the course of our lives – Mark 1: 16 -20 • God gives us a new purpose and direction – 2 Cor. 5: 13 -15; cf. Eccl. 12: 13 • Any carnally-driven ambitions and goals become Spirit-driven – Rom. 8: 12 -14 • We begin to look at life differently, serving God being our primary purpose and pleasing Him becoming our chief aim – cf. Matt. 4: 8 -10; 6: 33; Col. 1: 9 -10
God is Changing Your Words and Your Deeds • As our purpose and our aims are changed, so follows the daily fruit of our lives – John 15: 5 -10 • The fruit of our lips manifests the oracles, grace and praise of God – 1 Pet. 4: 10 -11; Eph. 4: 29; Heb. 13: 15 • Our deeds are governed and motivated by the grace and love of God – Tit. 2: 11 -14 • The change is realized in every aspect of the fruit of our lives and will be tasted and observed by all – Matt. 5: 13 -16
Romans 8: 28 -29 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son , that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 28
2 Corinthians 3: 17 -18 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 17
