Who the key personnel are involved in Health and Safety of Citizen Advice Bureau “The manager is responsible for the effective implementation of procedures and systems including monitoring, prevention of hazards and talking remedial action where necessary” (taken from the Health and Safety Policy Book)
What are the roles He is the manager therefore he is responsible for many things: • He gives out tasks to each department within the bureau • He is responsible for all the paperwork done within the business • He needs to monitor and motivate the employees • He researches and develops external work • He communicates with other companies that the bureau work with • He designs any changes that take place in the bureau e. g. the look but also performance e. g. policies that they need to cover • He deals with unexpected events and serious complaints from the clients • He deals with serious law effected clients • He controls the bureau resources • He controls all the policies that the bureau follows and changes within them • He is responsible Health and Safety
What is the manager responsible for 1)The manager sets and monitors the standards of Health and Safety within the business- control session each 6 months 2)Regular Health and Safety checks within the business by specialists each 12 months 3)Ensure that the business follows the Health and Safety policies given by the Board of Trustees each time there is a change in a law changes must be done 4)Follow and update the changes of policies and set them to the business- this is done within 3 days after there is a change 5) Makes sure that an adequate programme of health and safety training is established, this is done each year 6) Make sure that Health and Safety signs are used around the building this is controlled on regular basis 7)Recognise work related stress and undertake action, this is done day to day basis 8) Report any Health and Safety issues to the Board of Trustees that need greater action 9) Undertake risk assessments 10)Set a personal example at all times by using the correct personal protective clothing/equipment and following all safety requirements and procedures. What is the manager level of Accountability Within the Citizen Advice Bureau it is the manager who is responsible for the Health and Safety, he does not have any other person or group of people who would help him with the Health and Safety. The Health and Safety within the bureau is part of his full time job.
