In st 21 Century • Women expanded their roles and positions. Areas include Independence Decision-making Military Combat LIST NEVER ENDS • The modern era has taken the woman out of the home and into the workplace.

Sakshi Malik is an Indian freestyle wrestler. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg category, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. Dipa Karmakar is an artistic gymnast who represented India at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is the first Indian female gymnast ever to compete in the Olympics, and the first Indian gymnast to do so in 52 years.
