Location • Our town lies in the East of Slovenia • It is located in the Styria region

History • Allegedly, our mineral water well was created where the Greek god Apollo’s servant Pegasus struck its hoof on the ground. • Our history goes back as far as the Roman times • The road from Celeia (Celje) to Petovia (Ptuj) leads through this territory • The mineral water found here was first mentioned in 1572 though its healing properties were known before. • The Croatian ban Peter Zrinjski actually healed his liver. with the spring water around 1665. • The spa, however, wasn’t built until 1803. • Our spa is well-known around the world.

Glassworks • Our glassworks were built when they discovered black coal. • The factory was built on top of the mine. • When the coal was gone, electricity was discovered. • The glassworks are well-known all over the world for the beautiful things they make.
