Round 1 ROBOTS vs. HUMANS KEEP HUMANS! The Royal Mail need to reduce their running costs. To save money they are looking into replacing their post office staff with robots. Vs. Should they get rid of their staff and buy robots that will do their job? BUY ROBOTS! Will it save them money? What jobs can the robots do?
Round 2 ROBOTS vs. HUMANS KEEP The assembly line for the new Ford Fiesta are HUMANS! replacing 100 employees with robots. Vs. The robots will complete tasks such as connecting fittings to the vehicle (bumper, wing mirror, number plate) BUY The employees will not have jobs if the robots ROBOTS! are installed.
Round 3 USE HUMANS! Vs. USE ROBOTS! ROBOTS vs. HUMANS Leeds airport has decided after receiving a large number of complaints about lost luggage, they would like to replace their robot workforce with human baggage handlers. The robots currently have PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers) that read the bar code on the bag and decide which area to send it to for storage.
