Overview The game is a robot time trial where the robot has to complete the course in the fastest time whilst trying to avoid obstacles and gain power ups, which will effectively decrease or increase the speed of the robot. The positioning of where the participant places the robot at the start will be a major factor as it will affect the times. This will involve the use of multiple sensors to detect the power ups/obstacles which will cause the robots speed to be altered.

Negative Outcomes • Sensor – the sensors could fail in terms of them not working properly or incorrectly. The way in which we could improve this by testing the robot before hand to see that all of the sensors work properly, if they don’t work properly, retrace footsteps to see if anything is out of place. • Battery – The battery could run out half way through the course which would affect the time of the run. To avoid this altogether we could charge the battery before each race so it doesn’t run out. • Bugs in the algorithm- this could be improved by double checking the algorithm before testing all the requirement needed for this project work effectively.

Design • We will make multiple tracks for the time trial game all with different layouts and design features to add variety to our game. More tracks will make the game more entertaining for the user.
