Robbery Suppression POLICING PLAN QUARTERLY UPDATE 2005 Example
Robbery Suppression POLICING PLAN QUARTERLY UPDATE 2005 Example Commander Jeff Hynes Phoenix Police Department
WHAT DO WE WANT TO ACCOMPLISH? Ø Reduce incidents of robbery citywide by utilizing crime analysis (CARU), public education and partnerships (Safe Business Network, Robbery Detail), collaborative efforts (NET Teams) and best practices. Phoenix Police Department
How will we accomplish our goal? Ø CARU will provide timely and accurate crime analysis on locations with high incidents of robbery. Ø We will focus on one precinct per quarter. 1 st Qtr. – Maryvale 2 nd Qtr. – Squaw Peak 3 rd Qtr. – Cactus Park 4 th Qtr. – South Mountain Phoenix Police Department
How will we accomplish our goal? Ø Each precinct will volunteer one NET Team for a week to work in the target precinct. Ø It is up to the target precinct to develop the action plan to attack the robbery problem. Ø We are not going to micromanage the enforcement effort, each NET team is a resource to be utilized at the direction of that precinct. Phoenix Police Department
How will we accomplish our goal? Ø (Safe Business Network) will utilize the crime analysis provided by CARU and complete a workup on the target locations prior to the enforcement effort. Ø They will then educate local businesses and apartment complex owners/managers on how to prevent crime. This will create a localized business network. Phoenix Police Department
Robbery Detail Ø The Robbery Detail has agreed to assign one detective to the enforcement program in Maryvale to work with the NET teams. Ø This will allow for better communication between work units and better follow up on cases that these work units encounter during the enforcement effort. Phoenix Police Department
