River Thames The river Thames is 215 miles long which makes it the longest river in England, it has 45 locks, is home to over 25 species of fish. There at least 214 bridges crossing over the Thames including the most famous bridge in London; Tower Bridge. FUN FACTS! In 2006 there was a female bottlenose whale spotted in the Thames as well as a humpback whale that unfortunately got hit by a ship.
Amazon River The Amazon river is the second longest river in the world at a mind blowing 1400 miles the Amazon River is located in the northern area of South America. It flows from west to east. The river system originates in the Mountains of Peru and travels through Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Brazil before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. FUN FACT! The Amazon river is the widest river on earth, in rainy season it can get to be up to 30 miles wide.
The River Nile The river Nile is the longest river in the world, just beating the Amazon river it it 1432 miles long. The Nile River flows from south to north through eastern Africa. It flows through Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya), and empties into the Mediterranean Sea. FUN FACT! Egypt is mostly desert but around the river is the perfect place to grow crops.
