Commitment Saturday } When the days drew near for him to be received up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. (Lk 9: 51) } For the Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been confounded; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame; (Is 50: 7) } And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified. Procession Sunday: Context 18 Then the glory of the LORD went forth from the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim. 19 And the cherubim lifted up their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight as they went forth, with the wheels beside them; and they stood at the door of the east gate of the house of the LORD; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. (Ez 10: 18 -19) And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. (Ez 11: 23) 4

Procession Sunday: Context (cont. ) 26 Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD. We bless you from the house of the LORD. 27 The LORD is God, and he has given us light. Bind the festal procession with branches, up to the horns of the altar. (Ps 118: 26 -28) Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on an ass, on a colt the foal of an ass. (Zech 9: 9) 6

Holy Monday Mary took a liter of costly perfumed oil made from genuine aromatic nard anointed the feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair; the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. (Jn 12: 3)
