What is a risk assessment? Anyone delivering a sport or leisure activity must complete a risk assessment. This is usually done using a form which covers: 1. Hazards: What are the hazards that could hurt somebody. e. g. wet sports hall floor 2. Risks: What is likely to cause the harm? e. g. someone could slip over 3. Control measures: What can we do to avoid or reduce the risk of harm? e. g. wipe up the spillage Risk assessments also get people to think about how likely the risk is, what the consequences are and who is responsible for making sure everything is safe.
