Reception Organisation Victoria Whitby is the EYFS Phase Leader/ Assistant Head teacher. Marta Dobrowolska is the Year Group leader. There will be 5 reception classes with up to 30 children in each class.

Important messages If you would like to speak to your child’s class teacher, they will be in the playground from 8. 35 a. m. Children are to be in the line for quarter to nine (8. 45 a. m. ) Collect your Reception child before older siblings. Regularly check children’s book bags for letters. Ensure your child’s name is on all items of clothing/belongings. We aim for 100% attendance! No unauthorised absences - please always inform the office if your child is not going to be in school.

Family Support team Three main areas of support… Vikki Integrated Family Support Manager Bibi Family Support Worker Universal Health – toilet training workshops, parenting programmes and family activities (FAST). Jenny Family Support Worker Targeted Work – Parents may have a specific concern e. g. sleeping, issues managing children’s behaviour at home, routines, fussy eaters. Family support work with the family. Sign Posting – Support families by providing agencies to support specific areas of need e. g. management, returning to work, further education opportunities. What can I do to support my child’s education? As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher. The support and encouragement you provide are important throughout your child’s school life but particularly in the early years. Share any key information about your child with staff. Ensure your child attends regularly. Ensure your child arrives on time and is collected on time. Talk to a member of staff if you have any worries/concerns.

Read information sent home or displayed outside the classroom on the Parent/Carer Notice Board. Attend Parent/Teacher meetings and curriculum workshops each term. Support your child’s learning by following up work being carried out in school. Let staff know how you feel your child is getting on. Respond to school consultation and questionnaires that are sent out. Come in and help out in the classroom or on trips/visits. You will be informed when help is needed.

September 2018 Part-time - Thursday 6 th and Friday 7 th September – children will attend for either an a. m. (8. 45 – 11. 00 am) or p. m. (1. 00 – 3. 10 pm) session. Half a day – Monday 10 th – Friday 14 th September – children will attend for the morning session and stay for lunch (8. 45 am – 1. 00 pm). Full time - From Monday 17 th September children will attend Reception full time (8. 45 am – 3. 10 pm)
