Riojas Elementary Spotlight Contract Hello Singers and Parents! I am so excited to have

Riojas Elementary Spotlight Contract Hello Singers and Parents! I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with 4 th and 5 th grade and to encourage your musical growth. I have high expectations for this ensemble. In order for us to have the most effective rehearsals and reach our performance goals, there will be a character, and attendance policy in effect for all Spotlight members. Character: The members of the Spotlight program are expected to be leaders for their classmates. They should follow the school and class rules not only in Spotlight rehearsals, but in their class during the school day as well. The rules are as follows: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Follow all directions Raise your hand before you speak Respect your teacher, your classmates, your music and your classroom Do not talk during rehearsal Make music and have FUN doing it! Attendance: Spotlight members are expected to attend all rehearsals. If there is an illness or emergency, members and parents are asked to contact Mrs. Manning to inform her of their absence either with a written note, phone call or email(the school does notify Mrs. Manning of a student’s absence). Additionally, it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that their child is picked up NO LATER THAN 3: 45 PM. If you are late, your child will be asked to leave Spotlight. This is a zero tolerance policy. Mrs. Manning’s contact: 512 -574 -4175, paularae. manning@pfisd. net (for parental use only, not for students) What is Spotlight? A musical troupe for 4 th and 5 th Graders! EVERYONE welcome!! The musical we will be performing this year is “Annie” Beginning Thursdays 2: 45 -3: 45, February 25– May 12 (Performance TBD) (No school or notice of cancellation due to Mrs. Manning’s Absence=No Spotlight) A student will lose future opportunities if they decide to quit because they did not get a part they wanted. We are a team and we work together. There are no small parts, everyone is needed. Each member is required to be responsible for their own costume. Each parent may be asked to volunteer their time and if not willing to volunteer, their child may not be in Spotlight. (Mrs. Manning is one person, volunteering her time, and will need help. )
